Hinged Door Wardrobes in Bradford
Classic, full-access wardrobes with hinged doors that open onto the entire run at once. The right choice when the room is wide enough for the swing — most Bradford bedrooms over 2.6m. We scribe every cabinet to the walls, the skirting, and the picture rail so the wardrobe looks original to the house.

The right pick for the right room.
Hinged works when the bedroom is wide enough for the door swing — which is most rooms over 2.6m. You get the full view of every shelf, drawer, and rail when the doors are open, so the internal fit-out is simpler and easier to live with. Hinged also pairs naturally with traditional shaker fronts, brass cup handles, and the period architecture we scribe around. It's the right choice in Frizinghall Victorian end-of-terraces with their picture rails, in Ilkley stone period houses where the bedrooms are generous, and in the larger 1930s Heaton semis where the principal bedroom is over three metres wide. The trade-off is door swing — you need 60 to 70 centimetres of clear floor in front of the wardrobe. If you have it, hinged is the cleanest, most accessible style we fit.

On this style, the things customers ask first.
How much door swing space do hinged wardrobes need?
Sixty to seventy centimetres of clear floor in front of the wardrobe for a comfortable opening. Less than that and the door clips the bed or a piece of furniture every time. If the room won't accommodate the swing, sliding doors are the right call instead.
Can hinged wardrobes work in a Victorian terrace?
Constantly. The wider Frizinghall, Manningham, and Heaton terraces have principal bedrooms over three metres wide, and hinged is the natural fit. We scribe the end panels and cornices around the original picture rail and skirting so the wardrobe reads as period rather than added on.
Are the hinges soft-close as standard?
Yes. Concealed hinges with soft-close on every door, rated for daily use. The hinges are adjustable so the doors stay aligned over the years even if the building shifts slightly.
Can I have a mix of doors and drawers in a hinged run?
Standard. Most of our hinged runs include drawers in the lower section — usually behind a single hinged door, or as a stacked drawer bank between two door columns. The internal fit-out is what makes the wardrobe useful day-to-day, so we design it with you at the visit.
Do hinged wardrobes come painted?
Yes. Sprayed shaker or slab fronts in any RAL or Farrow & Ball reference. The finish is workshop-applied — not on site — so it's harder-wearing than a paint-job after installation.
Bradford, the wider district, and the towns across the moor.
We do most of our work within a fifteen-minute drive of the workshop — Shipley, Heaton, Frizinghall, Saltaire, Wibsey. We travel further for larger projects across West Yorkshire.
